Well, please bear with me while I take you on a tour of another product recommended and successfully used by Heather Tomlinson of Rat Planet.

This product is especially good with young rats and old ones - although it has been used hand in hand with the Grapefruit Seed Extract products with fantastic results.
I have used both of these products without the need for antibiotics from the vet - although I do not advocate self-medicating unless you know what the problem is and preferably with the vet's knowledge first. However, there are times that your rats are sniffly or already on antibiotics and these 2 products together can be used.
I use this product now at a rate of a quarter of a tablet per rat when they are ill, or for a few days before and safter any rat show that I am taking them to. I appreciate what 4Life say, in that it would be better to take it every day - so that you are not trying to increase immune levels after an infection sets in, but better still you have the immunity high to ward off any "nasties", but many of you out there have lots of rats and I do understand that it is an expesive medication for everyday use. I also use this every day on one rat that I have with a rapidly growing tumor - I will post on here with my findings.

If you look on the American sites - do not be confused over all the different types of Transfer Factor - many of them are not available in the UK and the UK rep said that the advanced plus is the best you can get for your pets anyway.
