Due to popular demand at the rat shows I attend, I have been asked numerous times to make larger sized hammocks for people with large Terenziani sized cages. These also fit many of the other large cages like the Ferplast Jenny and Mary, the Savic Freddy and the Critter cages.

There are 4 types of hammock on this page - the standard (for small cages), Terenziani for most of the standard large Savic and Ferplast cages, the 12" by 12" for squarer cages and the cosy toes - again for the larger cages
This first section of hammocks covers the standard hammock in the new longer lasting oatmeal coloured cotton twill. There is a thick layer of comfy padding with a luxurious layer of fleece or fake fur on top.
These hammocks measure approximately 8.5" by 11.5". They attach to the side of the cage with the 4 rings provided.
The 11" by 17" hammock fits the Terenziani type cages perfectly. I use it in my Ferplast Jenny cage at home.
The 12" by 12" hammock will fit a large cage.

Would your rat rather sleep inside their hammock than on top? Well ..... despair no more - I am proud to announce the New Acrorats Cosy Toes for your rat - an 11" by 17" hammock with the upper split in 2 with a hem to allow easy access for rats to get in and out. If however your rat prefers to sleep on top - then that is not a problem either. Mine have decided that one side should be for sleeping in and the other side makes an excellent larder!

Acrorats "Budget Range"
For those of you on a limited budget or with rats that prefer to "sag in comfort" - Acrorats is pleased to announce its new "Budget hammocks". Priced at a very inexpensive £6 each for a full 11" by 17" hammock you can't go wrong! Made of soft fleece they look fantastic. I have chosen these 2 particular fabrics as although they will allow the hammock to sag a bit in the middle - they do not do what most standard fleeces do - and that is allow the bottom of your rat to meet the bottom of their cage!!!!
These hammocks do not have the binding, or the Quilted backing - but instead are 2 layers of brilliant quality material.
The hammock will fit the Jenny cage, the Terenziani range and the Freddy/Ruffy. along with many other cages.
For those of you who work with animals in rescue centres, or have a lot of cages - why not take advantage of the "buy 10 for £50" offer? - they you can easily have one on the wash and one in the cage for each of your boys and girls!

In 2004 I approached Savic and asked if they would be interested in taking on some of the original Acrorats products. After much discussion it was agreed that they would manufacture a copy of the rattic, bunk and hammocks to my specifications.
The Relax small hammock is the same size as the Acrorats standard hammock featured at the top of this page (8.5" by 11.5"). The materials used are not as hard wearing as the Acrorats calico material but at only £4.60 they are great value for money. The fleecy top comes in an assortment of colours.
The Relax medium hammock is the same size as the Terenziani hammock on this page (11" by 17") and again, uses the lower grade materials. Economically priced at only £6.50 this is a cheap and cheerful alternative to the more luxurious Acrorats hammock.
I have been involved with Savic throughout the prototype stage and feel that although these hammocks are not made in the UK, and do not use such high quality materials, they do prove good overall value for money.

If you decide to use it as a tunnel then you can of course fit it to the top of most cages. The thing I like best about using the Acroflex as a tunnel is that you can still see all of your rats from the top of the cage - the more traditional style of tunnel means that you often see noses and tails but nothing else! This tunnel gives the phrase "rat pile" a whole new look!
By using the larger ring provided and using it to suspend the Acroflex by the 4 outer tabs and hanging it from the roof of the cage gives you a wonderful hanging house for your rats to snuggle down in - often there are 4 noses peeping out of each of the openings that are created by hanging the acroflex this way.
If you place the acroflex in the cage on an angle, your rats (especially those who are less mobile) can move up and down the various levels of your cage easily and comfortably.
The Acroflex may be soft but choosing which of the 4 deliciously sweet colours the is extremely hard
